For the second year in a row, Unilin Insulation is delighted to be sponsoring the Bricklaying competition at Worldskills Ireland 2023.
Worldskills Ireland is a partnership between enterprise, industry, education, training and government that raises the profile and recognition of skills and apprenticeships and prepares the talent of today for the careers of the future.
Unilin Insulation support the work in which Worldskills provides, as the company also extends opportunities for apprentices across facilities in Ireland and the UK. Skills and apprenticeships are vital to the continued growth and evolution of the construction industry and to Ireland’s economy as a whole. By working to promote the opportunities within these sectors, we can help to create a better future.
Barry Rafferty, Managing Director at Unilin Insulations agrees that “Worldskills Ireland 2023 gives a unique opportunity to promote the importance of skills and apprenticeships which can be the lifeblood of our industry, especially in recent years as the sector has come up against recruitment challenges”.
Unilin Insulation look forward to meeting all aspiring skills and apprentices on the day and would like to extend our congratulations to Brandon, Gary, Jack, Kian and Oisin, finalists in the Bricklaying competition at Worldskills Ireland 2023. They will compete at the exhibition on September 20th – 22nd with some of the best bricklayers in Ireland.

Tristan Brock, Worldskills Ireland Bricklaying Winner of 2022, explains that the competition is “extremely daunting, but it really isn’t about the competition, it’s about learning the skills to better yourself in your career and having he confidence to make decisions about the future as a young, aspiring professional”.
We look forward to seeing how our brick layers get on and we hope that students, parents and teachers will be excited and inspired about careers in construction after visiting Worldskills Ireland 2023 – it truly is a dynamic and energetic industry and there has never been a better time for Ireland’s young people to consider joining it.
Good luck to all of the competitors at Worldskills Ireland at the RDS, Dublin from 20th – 22nd September. We’ll see you there.
