Designed by Studio Rogers Architects and constructed by local firm Kelly Brothers, the new development comprises 22 houses, three of which are wheelchair accessible.
Ross Street Mews has been named winner in the Urban Regeneration Category at the 2025 Brick Awards. Located in the Falls area of West Belfast, Ross Street Mews is a £4.8 million housing-led regeneration scheme that demonstrates how small-scale, high-quality development can transform communities and address urgent housing need.
The chosen materials connect Ross Street Mews to the city’s architectural legacy while signalling renewal and resilience. The result is a streetscape that feels both authentic and forward-looking durable, distinctive, and deeply rooted in place.
Each home in Ross Street Mews achieves an EPC A energy rating, incorporating solar panels, airtight construction, high-performance glazing, and robust insulation to minimise energy demand and combat fuel poverty. South-facing living areas maximise natural light and warmth, while street trees, hedgerows, and native planting enhance biodiversity and the local environment.
Unilin provided CT/PIR Cavitytherm insulation which builds to a system as a high performance composite board of enhanced PIR which provides a Lambda value of 0.021 W/mK, for full fill cavity wall applications.
CavityTherm’s unique engineered profiled facing directs any moisture that might penetrate the external wall down the protective facing and back onto the external leaf, giving added protection
from wind driven rain. The board includes specifically designed rebated edge detailing of all four edges to allow the system to tightly interlock when installed. This engineered jointing of the insulation layer, with the addition of bespoke ancillary pieces to insulate effectively around services such as hockey sticks, meter boxes and corner details, ensures continuity and results in excellent Thermal Bridging detailing. CavityTherm is an innovative, built-in insulation for traditional walls that achieves passive level U-Values as low as 0.13 W/m2K with excellent Thermal Bridging detailing in traditional cavity widths up to 150mm wide.
This project showcases the perfect blend of thoughtful design and modern living, recreating the charm of Belfast terraces while ensuring a safe, welcoming environment for residents.
